About Me

Sig Campbell with Tim Matheson

The written word has always been my best way of connecting to others. It has been therapeutic and life-saving, helping me cope and overcome. Growing up gay in the South and  struggling with PTSD and depression, I know what it’s like to feel washed out, faded, and alone. That’s why I found solace in film and TV - I related to the characters that expressed themselves honestly and shared baggage like mine. Storytelling spurred me to break out of my shell and embrace the merits that make me unique.

Drexel University's film/television co-op program brought me to Los Angeles, where I earned a job as a script reader for Academy Award-honored producer Roger Corman. After my time in pre-production, I worked as communications coordinator and social media manager for the nonprofit SAG-AFTRA Foundation from 2013-2020. During this time, my writing appeared in People, Deadline Hollywood, Broadway World, and SAG-AFTRA Magazine. My short film 417 also premiered at Philadelphia Comic Con. In 2020, I began heading a writers program for gifted middle schoolers at Quest Academy, and in 2022, I founded my ghostwriting and editing service: Sig Campbell Services.

Writing for film and television is my first love, but I've stepped out of my comfort zone and worn a lot of different hats. I'm an author, ghostwriter, editor, essayist, English teacher, creative writing instructor, and photographer. I've led casting and audition workshops with CSA certified casting directors and SAG-AFTRA union performers. I ran 7 social media channels and behind-the-scenes for the SAG Awards, the Patron of the Artists Awards, and FYC panels. If you're looking to get married, I'm a licensed minister.

At my core, I'm an introvert who loves reading books and watching movies with my husband and two dogs. Still, my desire to take in new experiences and undiscovered knowledge is an innate part of who I am. I'm a forever learner who welcomes new insights and conversationalists. I live by two rules: love is love, and the truth is the truth.

A few of my favorite films: East of Eden, Cinema Paradiso, Donnie Darko, Ed Wood

A few of my favorite shows: Lost, Twin Peaks, Party Down, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

A few of my favorite bands: Fleetwood Mac, ELO, Tom Petty, Day Wave, The Midnight

A few of my favorite doughs: Cookie, Pizza, Brioche, Sourdough

Reading, writing, and editing aren't just my bread and butter; they're my whole meal. Please feel free to drop me a line.
